Within the scope of the 4th FIT-IT Embedded Systems call, the dissertation project "COMODIS: COgnitive MODelling of Interactive Systems" has been submitted. The project was accepted by the evaluators jury and received funding for a period of two years.

The dissertation project dealt with the application of Cognitive Architectures in interactive systems (especially Ambient Intelligence environments). Cognitive Architectures are designed to simulate human intelligence in a human-like way. Therefore a model built on such an architecture should be able to mediate the interaction between a human user and an artefact by means of awareness, intelligence and natural interaction, which are key features of Ambient Intelligence (AmI). A prototypical AmI environment - driven by a Cognitive Model - was implemented and evaluated.
